Me llamo Erik y soy de Suecia, viviendo en Estocolmo. Trabajo en IT y mis aficiones son correr, hacer deporte (pádel, fútbol, billar), tocar/escuchar música, cine y mucho más :)

Hi, I am Finnish language enthusiast currently living in Helsinki. I would personally consider my self a self-taught linguist.
I am native Swedish and Finnish Speaker (C2), have C1 in English, and B1 in Korean, Mandarin Chinese, and Japanese. My Vietnamese is quite poor and German is okay A2.
I am aiming to pass all the JLPT-tests. I will start from N5. in 2025 I plan to attend HSK3 and maybe HSKK middle level. At some point I would also like to have a grade 3 in TOPIK (Korean language test)
I have been to university exchange in South Korea twice (Hallym University, 08-12/2016; Kyung Hee University 08/2020-05/2021) and lately I returned from a 9 month stay attending Chinese classes at National Taiwan Normal University (08/2023-05/2024). I have also travelled to Hong Kong, Japan, and Vietnam for some 2-3 days each.
Studying languages and meeting people in the process is a life style choice I made at the age of 22 (now I am 32).
I am happy to help people in learning languages so if that is what you want we could meet and then I see what I can do.

A Nordic man lost in Taipei, looking to improve his Mandarin and to meet new people.
While English is not my first language, I'm fluent in it.
I don't believe in language exchange over some messenger, but prefer to meet in person in a coffee shop or the like. Spending already too much time online and could use any reason to leave home.
Taking long walks is also something I like, whenever the weather allows. Otherwise I do enjoy learning (like reading, podcasts) and thinking (programming, board games,...). Guess I am a bit of a nerd and an introvert. Been vegetarian for over 20 years.

I'm learning Japanese, because I've recently developed a fascination for Japanese culture and also just like language learning in general, so not just because of anime, although I do watch anime occasionally. Right now I'd say I'm at around an N4 level, although I've never taken the JLPT test.
